Coronavirus….probably our least favourite subject right now, and probably many of yours! It’s consuming our Facebook feeds, our Whatsapp groups. We are now at our laptops working wherever possible. Unfortunately, so many of you have had to deal with the postponement or even worse, cancellation, of your Wedding. We cannot even begin to understand how each and every one of you are feeling, so we want to help as much as we can!

So we have 5 top tips of things you can do on your ‘would have been’ wedding day for you to make sure that your day is positive, filled with joy and love and not consumed by constantly thinking…”I would have been putting my dress on now…we would have just said I do…I would have been doing my speech now….”

When your wedding day comes it is going to be everything you imagined it would be and it’s going to blow every other wedding out of the water! But now you get to have more time anticipating that big day.  There is a movie I watched back a few years ago and I remember a quote that I really related to and it stayed with me ever since. That quote is:

“This is honestly my favourite part – the moment before it starts.” – We Are Your Friends

Watch the sunrise together (or a sunset)

You are still allowed one outing a day for exercise – make the most of it! Get up early before the sunrise and take a walk on one of your favourite routes. If you don’t generally go out for walks, then use a walking app such as RouteBuddy and find an adventurous route together!

Couples yoga is all the rage right now, there are plenty of videos available on Youtube and it can actually be a real laugh if you don’t want to take yourselves too seriously! It could also give you a great party trick to show off together at the Wedding! Owen and I have been trying out AcroYoga which has been… an experience! We are terrible!

Cook a meal together

Even more fun, cook together! But no hilarious and cute food fights guys, nobody wants to see that cheesy stuff! … Oh, who am I kidding!! We want to see you guys plastered in flour and pasta full of love for each other. We love you guys! #joylordifilmhouselockdown

What food shall we cook do you ask? Don’t worry, we got you! Our favourite theme …. RECREATE YOUR FIRST DATE! … I know, right? I am already excited for you!

Cut a Cake!

Buy a huge cake, or two, slice into it together and eat the whole darn thing! No guests, no visitors… more cake for you! Win!

If you are feeling super adventurous and creative, bake that cake together! Pour some glasses of champagne, drop a strawberry in there and just enjoy the moments!

Have a pyjama party with popcorn and a your favourite movie

Think popcorn, your favourite films, blankets, curtains drawn, wine and lots of cuddles! You could even watch the film that you first watched together. They do say that marriage is one endless sleepover!

There are also a lot of businesses offering free videos and entertainment, such as comedians, pubs offering quizzes, even musicals! Take a look and put together an entertainment schedule.

If you are sick of your TV, why not stream your photos and videos from your phone in a slideshow gallery and take a walk down memory lane together to remember why you fell in love! All you need to do this is a streaming app/device and your phone!

Read your Vows

Practice makes perfect, and this is the ideal time to recite your wedding vows to one another before the big day. Take it one step further and prepare Love Island-style speeches to express how much you mean to one another.
